Mark's door is unlocked. Mark himself is sprawled across his bed, obviously... well, dead to the world. In a manner of speaking.
Angel shakes his head, and leaves Mark's camera somewhere he'll see it more or less as soon as he wakes up. There's a note on top of it, since Angel knows he'll see it if it's there.
You've said you trust me to kick your ass when I think you need it. Consider this your ass-kicking, and please don't make me go the literal route with that.
Fact: You've still got it bad for Maureen, and since she and Joanne are off yet again, there's a half decent chance she'd say yes if you offered, knowing her.
Fact: You have a girlfriend.
Fact: Said girlfriend loves you enough to make sure you didn't go back to kick New York's ass by yourself, and would probably have a go at killing you if you left her out of the loop on this matter. To say nothing of her parents.
Fact: Maureen is a commitment-shy lunatic. Possibly she's a little saner on average than that - you'd have the better idea in that regard - but there's no denying the commitment-shy part.
Fact: I can't fix everything for you, nor can I tell you the best course of action. I can only tell you what I think.
I think you're better off without Maureen. I think you deserve better than the kind of shit she made you put up with. I think she didn't have a fucking clue what she was doing dumping you in the first place, to say nothing of sleeping around. I know love rarely listens to this kind of logic, but for what it's worth, that's my opinion.
I'm pretty damn sure you're going to have to be less passive on this matter than you seem to want to be. This doesn't sound like something that can stay bottled up for long (and really, how many lingering crushes can you sit on before you explode?), and if you don't figure out what the hell it is you want, something's gonna give, and somebody's going to end up hurt. Probably you.
I don't want to see you hurt, honey. It's the last thing you need, right now. But it's in your hands to do something to prevent it.
You're still welcome to bounce ideas off of me, of course. Still, I'm not inside your head and I don't know what's ultimately going to be best for you.
(And whatever you do, keep Syfte informed. You really don't need her and Val and Luke getting on your case as well.)
